Layers - what a useful app

Nugget time - I have been using Layers from layersapp.com to create resources. The cool thing about this one is that it separates all elements of your screengrab into individual elements automatically. So no more faffing about in image editors - and I was never any good at that anyway, I'm a musician! The example shown is a dropdown menu from the menu bar - usually pretty tricky to grab and fiddly to edit - 2 clicks with this puppy!

Old MBoxes bite the dust

Pro Tools 8.0.1 is the last release to support the original MBox - big news for educational institutions who use these devices as dongles for teaching labs of students the way of the 'Tools. Guess we'll have to upgrade our kit - but really, the blindness of Avid takes your breath away sometimes...

Let's see if we can lobby the powers that be on this one - if we can find them that is!
